Floyd Mayweather insists Conor McGregor doesn’t want to rematch him. The former four-weight world champion welcomed McGregor to the boxing world in August 2017 for a multi-million-pound showdown, which was aptly dubbed ‘The Money Fight’.

The contest went as many expected, although McGregor did give a significantly better account of himself than the fight’s detractors predicted.

Despite putting on a spirited display in the early rounds, McGregor ended up suffering a tenth-round TKO loss.

In the years that have followed his ill-fated professional boxing debut, McGregor has repeatedly made it clear he’d love a second crack at Mayweather.

But ‘Money’ doesn’t believe the UFC‘s poster boy is eager to share the ring with him again as he’s made out.

Where he at? He don’t want this.

In a video of him training at a packed Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas, the 43-year-old asked: “Where he at? He don’t want this.”

Ahead of his return to the UFC in January, McGregor reiterated his desire to return to the boxing world and revealed his eagerness to claim a world title in the sport.

“I would be open to other boxing bouts,” McGregor told ESPN. “We were actually close to signing [a deal with] Manny [Pacquiao].

“There’s been talks about the fight with Manny. There was an offer made on that.”

He added: “I’d like to box Paulie [Malignaggi] as well. Why not? That’s a bit of buzz, Paulie in a boxing bout. I want to box again. I will box again. I want to get a boxing world title. A boxing title is something [I want].”

Mayweather went into retirement for a third time after beating McGregor, although he did reveal last November that he intends to return to the ring this year.

The Olympian, however, has reportedly shelved plans to compete again following the deaths of his uncle Roger and ex-girlfriend Josie Harris.

The passing of Roger, his former trainer, has inspired Mayweather to impart his years of experience on up-and-coming fighters by taking up coaching.

“Due to the recent passing of my uncle Roger, I’ve felt inspired to help those around me the same way they have been there for me throughout my boxing career,” Mayweather said earlier this month.

“In a time where we must distance ourselves from others, it has allowed me to reflect on how I want to make a difference in people’s lives and help them achieve their goals.”

“A true trainer wants the best out of their fighter and pushes them to the best of their abilities. I am new to helping people train as I’ve always been on the other side of the mitts.

“A fighter could be impressive at mitt work but it doesn’t make him a great fighter. A trainer could be impressive on the mitts but it doesn’t make him a great trainer.

“It has become a goal of mine to help others reach the best versions of themselves and walk with it in confidence. I want to leave an impression on those around me and allow them to see their potential.

“This quarantine period has allowed me to see the importance of unity and helping others grow. I want to do my part on this earth and allow people to see the potential in themselves so that they can share it with the world.

“I am new at training and so far I’ve been working with people with no boxing experience, therefore we are growing together.

“But I promise you, I will be one of the best trainers in the world. Inspire and be inspired.”
