Video – Iconic Performance: Khadem, Dabir and Yazdani Win Olympic Gold

It's no secret that Iranian fans expect greatness from their wrestlers, and gold medal droughts are unwelcome. The win at the Sydney Games delivered Iran its first-ever back-to-back gold medal performance at the Games. Then, another decade's long medal drought began. That's when Hassan YAZDANI showed up. Some call him Yazdani, but most know him simply as "The Greatest."The 21-year-old lanky youngster with golden ambitions took to the mats at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio wrestling in search of redemption for his homeland.Yazdani trailed Russia's grizzled veteran Anuiar GEDUEV 6-0 in the 74kg finals, but you don't earn a nickname like "The Greatest" without the ability to perform feats of heroism.Yazdani scored six unanswered points and secured the 6-6 criteria victory. With his #IconicPerformance in Rio, Yazdani became the first Iranian gold medalist in 16 years and reignited the wrestling passion of a nation.Don't miss a move : http://bit.ly/more-wrestling
