Austria and Germany international judo match
20 Aug 2020 13:50
The prestige duel between Austria and Germany will take place in exactly one week at 27 August in the evening. Both nations are looking forward to the international match that will be held at ORF in Vienna. The German team has made some changes in the line-up and the Austrians also have to reschedule.
There have been changes in both teams for different reasons. DJB sports director Ruben Goebel calls “injuries on the one hand, unreliable Bundeswehr courses on the other, and personal fears about the corona virus on the third, despite a very good security concept for the entire course and the country duel on Thursday”.
Austrian Judo ÖJV President Martin Poiger once again emphasizes that everything is done for the safety of the athletes: “We try to keep the health risk for all participants as low as possible: All fighters are tested several times for COVID-19 in advance. Our team is being brought together in the Südstadt to avoid external contacts as much as possible. We are doing everything to protect our athletes. We are pleased that the DJB sees it the same way “.
The new line-up is tough and nothing stands in the way of an exciting and above all safe duel.
