Legacy Fighting Alliance reached its 100th show since the merger between Legacy FC and RFA in 2016, and Steven Nguyen celebrated it with a brutal knockout on the main card of Friday night’s show in Dallas, TX.
Nguyen (7-1) was finally back in a cage since the first loss of his career, a third-round knockout at Dana White’s Contender Series in July 2019, battling Jorge Juarez in a featherweight contest. Nguyen folded his opponent with a brutal right hand 30 seconds into the match, landing a follow-up hammerfist that landed on the shoulder.
LFA 100 was headlined by Victor Altamira (9-1) versus short-notice replacement Nate Smith for the vacant flyweight title, with Altamira taking home the gold via unanimous decision victory. The 30-year-old Mexican fighter now holds a perfect 9-0 record inside the LFA cage.
The co-main event also featured flyweight talents, and Charles Johnson (8-2) impressed. Having fought in six professional boxing matches since his past MMA bout in Sept. 2018, a 1-5 run in the squared circle, Johnson showed off his grappling skills to make previously undefeated Karlee Pangilinan submit to an anaconda choke in the second stanza.
