Dana White confirms plans to meet with Khabib Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi

Whether or not Khabib Nurmagomedov has another fight left in him remains a mystery, but Dana White plans to sit down with the undefeated lightweight champion in the near future.

This past week, Nurmagomedov put out a somewhat cryptic post on social media saying that he would be seeing the UFC president soon.

Following Saturday’s UFC Vegas 15 event, White spoke with reporters backstage at the UFC APEX and confirmed that he will be meeting with Nurmagomedov soon, but wasn’t ready to confirm an actual timeframe.

“We’re gonna meet in Abu Dhabi,” White said. “[We’ll be there] sometime soon. I’ll let you know when you need to know.”

Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from the sport following his UFC 254 submission win over Justin Gaethje. “The Eagle” improved to 29-0 in his third title defense, and the question remains whether he’ll extend his impressive streak to 30.

White has stated on several occasions that he believes Nurmagomedov will return. When asked about it once more, he hasn’t changed his stance.

“I do,” White stated. “He hasn’t said that to me but I do.”
